20 Things...

Before I head off to Maryland & Washington DC, here are 20 things you may not know about me...just for sh*ts & giggles. You probably didn't NEED to know 20 more things about me, but too bad I know you're totally going to read this! So who's laughing now? not me.

Big thanks to my sister who (like this post) helped me put it together.
Also, thanks to everyone who gave me tips to DC!! I've put them in my phone & hope to post pics soon!

Sequin...No, Scales

I bought this shirt awhile back at a thrift store in Brooklyn called Beacon's Closet. It's a HUGE store, but I ended up buying this one shirt, which I love, but didn't know what to do with. It just didn't seem right with pants, so on one of the final weekends of summer, I got to wear my denim shorts! And my huge ass platforms! The illusion of long legs...I love.

A funny story about this shirt is that while a couple of my girlfriends complimented me on the sequin (and of course being shiny)...my good friend Arthur came up to me, gently felt the shirt and commented "...scales..."

Part of the Cool Kids

As I'm typing this, I'm on a flight to NYC...gotta love technology & wifi.

For the past few months, I've been eye-balling these Jessica Simpson Dany Platforms. You can blame all of my blogger-friends who rock the crap out of them, and how fabulous they always looked with every outfit they wore (I'm talking to you Phi-Style & Clouds of Tulle). So after months of yearning for them, I just went ahead & bought them. BEST PURCHASE!

I got the tan ones, though I might get the black ones...although I didn't realize they were SO SKY-HIGH. I'm talking 6"...they're definitely the highest pair of heels I have, but I love them. Yay, part of the cool kids club!

I hate taking pictures after my day has ended: bad lighting, hair is flat, make-up is gone, face is tired, etc. etc.

If my hair looks longer, it's not because it miraculously grew (I wish)...it's because I'm wearing extensions! Just the clip-on kind. I'm still a little meh about it because it doesn't match the texture of my hair & holds curls a lot better than my natural hair...which means if I curl my hair & the extensions & my hair falls flat, I'll have random curly hair on my lower layers. I do like that it's natural hair & not synthetic, so I don't feel like I'm wearing Barbie hair.

Also, the flash on my camera did nothing but highlight my bra...so this is what my sister suggested I do to help conceal it:
Fabulous, dontcha think?

Feeling Fobulous

Last week I went to Seattle for 2 hours (literally for a 2-hour meeting) right when California was having a heat wave. It definitely made for some weird wardrobe choices since it was over 90-degrees at the beaches but cloudy (and rainy!) in Seattle. Let me tell you, 6:20am flights should NOT be allowed...that meant I had to wake up at 4am and be meeting-ready! By meeting-ready, I mean not looking like I just rolled out of bed.

Though Seattle was cloudy & rainy, I did not meet my Edward Cullen...wait, they live in Washington, right? It's been so long since I've read the books (and I didn't watch the movie because I hate Kristen Stewart). Also, I'm really bad at geography.

I'm also trying to split my hair in the middle (thought it doesn't look like the middle in these pics), but I'm having a hard time adjusting to it. I seriously feel like I look like a FOB in pictures...I might have to let it grow on me. Is it because my bangs aren't long enough? I stare at pictures of Kim Kardashian & I still can't figure out how my FACE doesn't match my HAIR! I wear my hair straight, I curl it, I put it in waves, I pull it back...no matter what I do, I still look like a FOB in pics. Sigh...maybe it's just not meant to be.
