Summa Summa Summa Time

I was always really jealous of summer birthdays; bbq's, pool parties, beach parties, bonfires...all things you can't do in April when the weather COULD be hot...or COULD pour on you. One of Rye Bread's best friends just turned 30, and had a fiesta-themed pool party. Arriba!

romper from nordstrom rack ($20!), haviana sandals, f21 belt, h&m hat
Since it was a pool party and there was a (high) chance I'd go in the water, I made sure to wear lots of waterproof make-up (in the form of purple gel liner & waterproof mascara). Beach waves were achieved by only curling the top 1/2 of each section & leaving the bottom section straight:
I'll be sure to do a tutorial on both, so definitely stay tuned! In the meanwhile, some pics of the party:
a couple that drinks together, stays together. (and we drink a lot!)
birthday boy: brett, fit with his sombrero & corona
P.S. Thanks to everyone who's been so patient with me. And I love the idea of doing a "travel-themed" post!

  1. I'm very jealous of your sun filled photos as I huddle here in the rain up in Vancouver! lol Loving the hat, I've been looking for one of those forever as they seem the perfect item to have this summer.

  3. You look so cute! But I do want to say, summer birthdays suck as a kid. School is out and everyone is on vacation. Then you get older and make up for it by drinking at the pool. You guys rock!
